The UK’s first nationally recognised eco-refurbishment training courses, developed by Parity Projects, have been awarded recognition by the Homes and Commnunities Agency (HCA) under their place-making recognition scheme. The scheme, which was launched in 2009, identifies and promotes “quality products that improve skills and knowledge within the housing, regeneration and community sector”.Parity’s training suite of eight modules is the first of its kind in the UK to be accredited to BTEC Level 3. They have been designed with tradespeople and professionals in the domestic building sector in mind and aim to build a common language between the trades, as well as to develop a “whole house retrofit” approach – something which is lacking in the current market. The HCA recognition award is a fantastic move forward in upskilling the workforce, ready for mass retrofit.
