The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive launches Spring 2014

It seems that after years of anticipation by both home owners and industry that the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (Domestic RHI) is finally about to launch this spring.  This is great news for many of our clients who are not connected to the mains gas grid and are looking for cheaper, more environmentally friendly heating and hot water solutions than they’ve currently got. The Domestic RHI is set to offer front-loaded quarterly payments to homeowners installing solar hot water collectors, air or ground source heat pumps, biomass boilers and biomass stoves that are connected to radiators via a back boiler, in order to encourage uptake of renewable heating and hot water systems.

For quite a while now we’ve been including predicted Domestic RHI payments in our Home Energy Masterplan reports for customers who might benefit from the scheme – with these figures being based on the systems we’ve modelled up for clients. This is obviously something that we see ourselves doing even more of now that the scheme is about to be promoted nationally by the government.

As always, for an informal chat about your home, Domestic RHI, or anything else that’s on your mind for that matter, just drop us a line or two via our website or give us a call in the office.
