Back in July, our Commercial Director, Chris Newman, and his wife, welcomed Ian and Marcie and the production crew of Britain’s Empty Homes to the home – our demonstration house in Peckham South East London. The progamme is on BB1 at 11.45am on Thursday 17th October so set a reminder!

The concept of the programme is to take people who are doing up an empty home to meet some people that have already done something similar.

Ian and Marcie had bought a dilapidated house in Muswell Hill and were looking to do a proper renovation – i.e. a low energy refurbishment.  Where better to get some good ideas and guidance than Parity Projects – our demonstration house is doing really well both in terms of its actual energy use and recognition.

The afternoon was spent giving as much advice as we could both on and off camera. Although the programme isn’t as high budget as Grand Designs, and is more focused on projects that are more realistic for the general population, it should hopefully give a good overview of what we did. The crew were a pleasure to have around – and many took the opportunity to ask some questions about their own homes too.
